Cybersecurity vs. IT: What's the Difference?
IT support generally focuses on keeping technology running — setting up devices, resolving issues, and maintaining systems day to day. Cybersecurity focuses specifically on reducing the risk of unauthorized access, data loss, or compromise.
The two overlap constantly, but a business can have excellent IT support and still have meaningful security gaps, simply because reducing security risk wasn't the primary job description.
Most of the small businesses we work with already have IT support in place. Our role isn't to replace that — it's to add a dedicated security lens that complements it.
